- BA in music as instrumentalist/singer from SDMK - Danish National Academy of Music
- BA in music as instrumentalist/singer or corresponding education from another Danish academy of music
- BA in music as instrumentalist/singer or corresponding education from an institute of further and higher education abroad at a level corresponding to SDMK - Danish National Academy of Music
An entrance examination which falls in two parts: a written test (compositions) and a practical test (concert).
Also, the applicants undergo a short interview where they can elaborate on their motivation for applying to this specific class.
The first part of the examination is a written test. You will receive 5 motifs by email from which you have 30 days to compose the following:
Choose one of the 5 motifs andmake a composition notated in leadsheet-format. The composition has to be minimum 32 bars long and maximum 50 bars long.
Choose another of the 5 motifs and make a composition notated as a score for a chosen soloinstrument. This has to be minimum one minute long.
Hand in 15 min. worth of your own compositions in either a score- og leadsheet-format. If your music is in leadsheet-format, hand in 5.
Your work will be graded on a scale of 7 taking in to consideration your ability to develop the original motif, creativity, original thinking, notation skills and compositional craftsmanship.
Depending on whether you pass or not, the level of your compositions and other applicants, you may get called in for a practical test.
The judging committee consists of:
- 1 head examiner (coordinator)
- 1 internal examiner
