Entrance exams and COVID-19

Technical details regarding digital entrance exams

Audition video

In cases where the tests will be conducted online, the applicant is asked to send a video showcasing a self-selected repertoire that provides an accurate representation of the applicant’s musical level. The video is replacing the traditional audition concert which normally is a key element of the traditional assessment.

The length of the video will vary depending on the programme, but must in all cases be submitted as one unedited clip showcasing the applicant’s playing or singing.

Proposed task

Instrumentalists applying for the classical or church music bachelor programmes are also asked to prepare and record a proposed task following the self-selected repertoire. The test will be sent be mail on December 16th.

Videos must be uploaded to WeTransfer, Dropbox or the like, whereafter the link is sent to mm@sdmk.dk. In order to avoid technical obstacles we ask that the video is submitted to SDMK well in advance – and no later than January 4th 2021.

Interviews and further tests

Interviews and other practical tests will be conducted via Zoom. Sight reading tests will be presented via screen sharing.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure a fully functional Zoom installation and a stable network connection.

Applicants will receive a Zoom-link and further info before the examination.

We recommend that applicants run Zoom on a computer og a tablet with a screen size that makes it possible to read sheet music and other documents.
