If the deadline is on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, the deadline is extended to the following weekday at noon.

    MASTER'S PROGRAMME (DEADLINE: 1 DEC.)

    The master's programme requires a bachelor's degree or similar qualifications

    ADVANCED POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (DEADLINE: 1 FEB. AT NOON)

    The programme requires a master's degree or similar qualifications.
    Application period: 1 October to 1 February at 12 noon.

    How to apply

    To be accepted as a full degree student you must pass an entrance exam.

    Applications open October 1st.
    The application deadline is December 1st at 12.00 (noon) (bachelor and master).

    BACHELOR STUDIES (Deadline december 1st)

    The exams will take place during January. There will be tests in the main instrument and in the general subjects piano, aural proficiency and theory.


    MASTER STUDIES (Deadline december 1st)

    The exams will take place during January. You will only be accepted to the master study if you have a bachelor degree in music. Additionally, SDMK - Danish National Academy of Music will arrange a recommendation test.


    NORDIC MASTER (NOFO)

    The Nordic Master in Folk Music (NoFo) is a joint study programme offered in collaboration between higher education music academies in four countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. 
    The programme is only open for application every two years. The application opens next in October 2024 with the programme starting in August 2025.


    Advanced postgraduate diploma (Deadline February 1st)

    For being accepted to the soloist class you must have a master degree in music and additionally SDMK - Danish National Academy of Music will arrange an entrance examination in April.

    General info

    APPLICATION FEE

    Applicants who seek admission at the Danish National Academy of Music must pay an application fee of DKK 500,-. 


    GENERAL REMARKS

    You have to attend personally, and it is not possible just to send a recording (audio or video) instead. You have yourself to arrange and pay for an accompanist. If required, SDMK - Danish National Academy of Music may refer you to an accompanist (the related costs are irrelevant to the academy).


    ILLNESS AND RE-EXAMINATION

    If an applicant is ill on the day of his/her audition, a make-up examination will be offered on the basis of a medical report from your doctor.
    If an applicant fails an exam in a general subject, re-examination will be offered. Make-up examinations and re-examinations take place 4-6 weeks after the ordinary audition period.


    TUITION FEE

    According to legislation in Denmark tuition fees will be charged from degree students from non-EU/EEA countries. Read more about it here.
